About Marta

Bellevue School District Board Director, District 3

In service to the Bellevue Community

In 2017, Marta moved to the United States with her husband and two sons, who attended Chinook Middle School and Bellevue High School. Marta is proud to be an active community member, serving on the Parent Teacher Student Association (PSTA) of her sons’ schools and participating in the Bellevue School District’s Equity Advisory and Advocacy Collaborative.

Marta also completed the Leadership Eastside program and was a member of the City of Bellevue’s Diversity Advisory Network.​

As a former Bellevue School District employee, Marta was instrumental in advocating for and creating the district’s first language access program, which became a model for the state of Washington. Her efforts have consistently focused on fostering inclusive educational environments that support both students and staff.​

Marta embraces her diverse background and dedication to educational excellence. She is honored to serve the Bellevue School District as a Board Director.

As a proud parent of two Bellevue High School graduates, Marta knows the life-changing impact of an inclusive and supportive school community. Bellevue helped raise her family—and now she’s ready to give back.

Marta is running to retain her position as District 3 Director for the Bellevue School Board. Her goal is to ensure that every student receives a high-quality education that affirms their identity, nurtures their potential, and prepares them for the future.

A Global Perspective

Marta was born in Spain and attended a French school—an experience she considers one of the greatest gifts her parents gave her, sparking a lifelong appreciation for international perspectives.

She and her husband have two sons who attended school in four countries before graduating from Bellevue High School. These global experiences have shaped Marta’s strong belief in the power of a high-quality education and the importance of diversity and inclusion.

Professional and Academic Background

Marta holds a bachelor's degree in economics, a master's degree in marketing, and a program management certification. She has worked as a budget controller in Spain for a technology company and the Spanish government, bringing strong financial and organizational expertise to her work.
